He is survived by : his wife Margit; his children, Elisabeth, Martin, Rita, Jimmy and Stella; his grandchildren, Laurie, Nancy, Tyler, Adam, Steven, Gary, Christina, Marianne, Susanne, Kayla and Leah; his great grandchildren, Jocelyn, Sarah, Ezra, Andrew, Shakira, Leia, Vigga, Nor and Kensi; his great great grandchildren, Emily and Ivey; and his sister Gudrun.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the North Bay (Mattawa) chapter of VON (Victorian Order of Nurses).
