Alana Husson wrote a sympathy message

“Dear Ronald, Raymond, Nicole and family, I was so very saddened to hear about Claudette's passing, and my thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time. Claudette will always hold such a special place in my heart, and I will remember her with love always. She was feisty, strong, funny, and she never had an issue speaking her mind - but above all else she was a loyal friend with a huge heart. I am also still humbled by her generosity. I worked for her in the support section of the Canadian Armed Forces pension office during the last bus strike. As soon as she learned that I was forced to walk a very long way to get to work each day, she insisted on driving me home (even though that must have added at least an hour to her commute). In pure Claudette style, she never asked for nor expected anything in return. Claudette is also the one who came up with a nickname for me that has since been adopted by other friends and family, so in future whenever someone calls me "stir stick", I will think of Claudette and smile! “Dear Claudette, I can't believe you are actually gone... After everything you went through over the past 1.5 years, I was really starting to think you would live forever! You are without a doubt one of the strongest women I have ever met. I feel so honoured to have had the privilege of getting to know you at the Canadian Armed Forces pension office. Your "gruff" exterior never scared me - it didn't take long for me to realize that you had a heart of pure gold!! There is no doubt that your absence will leave a huge hole in the world - but I know that you will be watching over your loved ones from afar (when you aren't winning big on the video poker machines, that is)! I will continue to think of you often, especially when I see Kenny Rogers' weird plastic surgery face and remember how angry it made you haha!! I will truly miss you, CJ. Thanks for everything.
