He was predeceased by : his parents, Glen Carruthers and Irene Carruthers. He is survived by : his wife Patty; his children, Perry Carruthers (Alex), Melissa Hall (Mike) and Amanda Carruthers (Chad); his grandchildren, Bryce, Brody, Brooklyn, Colby, Camden, Kali, Kohen and Jamie; and his sisters, Sandra Takeda (Jim), Linda Gingrich and Brenda Ryan (Don). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations may be made to Melbourne Royal Canadian Legion Branch 510 or Guthrie Presbyterian Church, Melbourne.
