He is survived by: his parents, Dan Smith and Sandra Smith; his wife Sheri Robinson; his children, Makenna and Levi; his stepchildren, Charlie and Sam; his siblings, Heather (Frank), Leslie and Alex (Kristy); and his nieces and nephews, Sadie, Danica, Maila, Megan, Riley and Liam. He is also survived by numerous relatives, and friends.

A celebration of life was held on Sunday, March 9th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Carson Funeral Home (290 First St, Midland, ON L4R3N9).

If desired, donations in Barret's memory can be made to The Salvation Army and The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
