He was predeceased by: his parents, Henrique Friesen and Catherine Klassen. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Friesen; his children, Voldo, Maria and Manfred; his sister Frieda Berg of Kitchener; his siblings-in-law, John Hamilton (Elizabeth), Kieth Watt (Beverley) and Debbie Hamilton (late Charlie Rankin); his nieces and nephews, Jason Watt, Theresa Southorn, Jodie Fransham, Johnathan Hamilton and Jordan Hamilton; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Gracelynn Carrol, Thomas Carrol, Jett Hamilton, Uma Fransham, Lia Hamilton, Scott Hamilton and William Hamilton.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mark's Cemetery (819 Yonge St, Midland, ON L4R4C2). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Royal Canadian Legion (134 William St, Victoria Harbour, ON L0K2A0).
