She was predeceased by: her parents, Gilbert Laurin and Martha Laurin; her brother George; and her nephew Jeff. She is survived by: her husband Tom Gostick; her son Jim Hawke (Michele); her brother Roger Laurin (Brenda); her nieces and nephews, Jody, Jason, Jeremy, Heather and Tammy; and her friends, Linda Edwards, Patsy Shiner and Lila Bates.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Nicholls Funeral Home (330 Midland Ave, Midland, ON L4R3K7). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A reception will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Heritage House - Reception Centre (330 Midland Ave, Midland, ON L4R3K7).
Donations may be made to the Canadian Lung Association in memory of Rita and would be greatly appreciated by her loved ones.
