He was predeceased by: his wife Marie Saal; and his parents, Johann Saal and Anna Saal (Weissenfels). He is survived by: his sibling's children, Peter, Paul, Katherine and Barbara Wünsche (Peter); his great-nieces and great-nephews, James, Julia, Adam, Rudy, Sarah, Abigail, Emily, Katharina (Chris) and Matthias (Lisa); Johannes, Hildegard, Otto and Alfons.

Visitation was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Turner & Porter Butler Chapel (4933 Dundas St W, Etobicoke, ON M9A1B6). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Nativity of Our Lord Parish (480 Rathburn Rd, Etobicoke, ON M9C3S8). A burial was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 at 1:15 PM at the Mount Hope Cemetery (305 Erskine Ave, Toronto, ON M4P1Z7).
