Charlotte Rebecca Nicholls Obituary

Charlotte Rebecca Nicholls (nee Bray) died peacefully on February 10, 2018 in Mississauga, Ontario, surrounded by her family and beloved dogs. She was 74.
Charlotte was born on March 24, 1943 in Brampton, to her parents, Howard and Winifred Bray. She grew up in Streetsville, Ontario, where she met the love of her life, Alan Roy Nicholls, while working in the jewelry store. Charlotte married Alan in 1962. For a short time, she taught grade 4 and 5, but soon decided to start a family. Alan and Charlotte moved to Thunder Bay, Ontario in 1970, and lived there happily with their three children (and dogs) for many years. In 1990, they moved to their beautiful house on the bay in Parry Sound, and then relocated to Barrie six years later. After Alan passed away, Charlotte moved to Elmvale, Ontario, where she was a frequent supporter of the local shops.
Charlotte was an accomplished artist, dedicating many hours to painting and drawing using chalk pastels. She loved music and enjoyed attending symphony and choral concerts. Everywhere she lived, Charlotte brought beauty to the landscape through her creative and colourful gardens. She was a kind and generous person, and found much joy in the small happenings of everyday life, inspiring those around her to do the same.
Charlotte is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Gordon Mack of Mississauga, Ontario; her son, Matthew of Barrie, Ontario; her son, Evan and daughter-in-law Piri Fejes of Midhurst, Ontario; and her four granddaughters, Meghan and Melissa Nicholls, and Zoe and Sarah Mack. She is preceded in death by her husband, Alan.
A celebration of Charlotte’s life will take place at the Liberty North event facility in Barrie on Sunday, March 4 from 1-4 PM. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Charlotte’s. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Wildlife Foundation.
