Daniel Jay Hruska Obituary
We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved son, Danny, on March 31st at Trillium Hospital in Mississauga. Danny passed peacefully after a long battle with scoliosis and heart issues.
His is predeceased by grandmothers, Audrey & May, uncle Bob, grandfather Al and cousin Lee.
He is survived by his dad and mom, Brian and Carolyn, sister Hayley, grandfather Roy Weatherby and uncles Gary Weatherby (& Wendy) and Dave Hruska (& Cheryl).
Always cheerful and positive, Dan loved people, and his friends and family were very important to him. He enjoyed planning his many fundraisers for the MS Society at PK Creek and International's. Dan loved his poker and enjoyed years of league play with his many poker friends. One of the highlights of his life was participating in WPT Poker tournaments in Las Vegas three years in a row. He enjoyed the Simpsons, and had a vast collection of Simpsons memorabilia. His other passion was karaoke and his rendition of "Dude Looks Like a Lady" is legendary.
He worked from home for many years as a telemarketer and a consumer research interviewer.
Dan was proud to receive a Top Fundraiser Award from the MS Society, as well as the Civic Award of Recognition for volunteerism from Mayor Bonnie Crombie in 2015.
Dan made a big impression on everyone he met. A great son, a good person, and an inspiration to all. His kind and gentle spirit will not be forgotten; hearing "I love you Mom, I love you Dad" on a daily basis, as well as his never ending hugs, will certainly be missed. We were lucky to be his parents.
