She was predeceased by: her parents, Mudaliar Karthigesu and Gnanasakunthala; her parents-in-law, Pandithar Sabapathy and Chellamma; her stepparent Yogambigai; her siblings, Dr. Rajendran, Balendran, Mahendran, Surendran, Kulendran (Canada), Umarani (UK), Ruparani (UK), Puvanarani (Canada), Hareendran, Selvarani (UK) and Gnanendran (UK); her siblings-in-law, Navasothy, Dr. Kunanantham, Muthulakshmi and P. Ganeshalingham; Dr. Anandavel.

She is survived by: her son Sabesh; her daughter-in-law Shanti; her spouse Sabapathy; her child Sabesan; her nibling Shanti Paskaramoorthy; and her siblings-in-law, Jayarani, Vivekanandan, Dr. Thangaroopan (Canada), Dr. Indradevi (NZ), Sudantradevi, Vijayalkrishna (Canada), Gnanavathi, Sivamanohari (UK), Arumuganathan and Wijayalakshmi.

During her education, she made a significant contribution to many school events such as dance and Carnatic music, adding pride to the college.
