She is survived by: her husband Peter; her children, Krystyna (Sekhar) and Jeffrey (Rebecca); her mother Jadwiga; her sister Yola; her niece Kristen (Sean); her friend Heather; and her grandsons, Jackson, William and Riley.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Irene's name to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada, The Canadian Cancer Society, or Canadian Blood Services.
