He was predeceased by: his parents, John Vardzel and Anna Vardzel; his wife Mary; his great grandchild Abigail; and his sister Margaret McLean.

He is survived by: his children, Rick (Ann), Bob (Samantha) and Katherine; his grandchildren, Stephanie (Justin) and Bryan; his great grandchildren, Eleanor and Elizabeth; and his sister Anna Mae Parent.
