He was predeceased by: his parents, Angelo Isidoro and Caterina Grazia Gismondi Pasquarelli; and his sisters, Maria-Grazia Castellucci and Elvira DiPede. He is survived by: his siblings, Maria Ferri, Vittoria Ziano, Giuseppina Pellegrini and Paolo Pasquarelli; his wife Liberata; his children, Domenica, Rita (Lorne) and Joe (Marie); his granddaughter Risa (Margaret); his great grandchildren, Leo and Sam; and his stepgrandchildren, Angela and Paul.

Donation in Mario's memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
