He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia; his parents, Michael Melnike and Harriet Melnike; his brothers, Malcolm, John and Donald; and his son-in-law Frank.

He is survived by: his children, Darlene, James, Lynn and Edward (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Kathryn (Derek), Christine (Carlos), Nicholas and Quinn; and his great grandchildren, Ariana Rose, Theia and Mel. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

For those who wish, donations may be made to the St. Vincent De Paul Society of St. Dominic's Church.
