Augustina Saygavong wrote a sympathy message

“In loving memory of Bailey, the driest wit of any focus puller. A discerning mind, too smart for his own good and the absolute choicest taste in punk music. Strong-willed, he stood up when there was wrong, was never afraid to speak his mind and always looked out for me. Though he may have tried to hide it, he had a big heart full of kindness and understanding for others, especially for the struggling and disadvantaged. Condolences to the Bailey clan, may his spirit rest.”

Alex Leung wrote a sympathy message

“One of the first people I had the pleasure and privilege to work with when I returned to Toronto to embark on my journey into the film industry. I had no idea the legend and remarkably skilled person I was in the presence of. I am heartbroken. Michael will forever be remembered and cherished. I miss him. My heartfelt thoughts and condolences to his family and friends. Rest in peace Michael.”

Sue Johnson wrote a sympathy message

“I worked with Michael for many years through IATSE 667. His sense of humor was completely unparalleled. He was hilariously grumpy yet gentle, and always had an opinion about every movie - and set - we were on together. He was a great focus puller and will be missed by many of us. The only camera guy with a red panda tattoo. My sincere condolences to the family.”
