He was predeceased by: his parents, Kathirkamar Nagalingam and Kanthapillai Ponnammay; his wife Vamadevi; and his brothers, Ramalingam, Ramanathan, Kanagalingam and Ambikaipakan.

He is survived by: his children, Raman, Bhawani (Gary), Sumathi (Siv), Ramani (Mark), Apappa, Sita (Brian), Alexander (Rana Belle), Darshan (Annie), Myra, Arjun, Krishnan, Maya and Alan; and his great grandchildren, Nico, Milo and Kali. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
