Fred Benzaquen wrote a sympathy message

“I have known Nicos Mavridis for over 40 years. His friendship has meant for me many happy moments filled with music and with the sweet sounds of his guitar. Thanks to him, I learned to sing in Greek, a language I do not speak. I will miss his kindness, and the beautiful rendition he had for songs by Hadjidakis or Theodorakis. I remember it all with fondness and gratitude. Thank you, Nicos. Rest in peace, my friend. Freddy.”
