He was predeceased by: his father Rogelio Segundo Mella; and his siblings, Mario Mella (Gloria), Antonio Mella (Judith), Jimena Mella, Miguel Mella (Jimena) and Valeria Mella (Carlos).

He is survived by: his wife Magaly Mella; his sons, Nicolas Mella (Glodiana) and Jonathan Mella (Marissa); his grandsons, Alexander, James and Isaiah; his friend Rumbo Al Sur; Ana Rosa Tapia Tobar. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren, his extended family and many nieces and nephews and friends.
