He was predeceased by: his wife Irene Abrutat of Germany; his parents, Wilhelm Knecht (Willie) and Maria Knecht; and his brother Karl Voggenreiter. He is survived by: his children, Rose, Ruth (Richard) and Richard; and his granddaughters, Nathalie and Isabelle.
