He was predeceased by: his wife Patti (McDowell); and his parents, Walter Borys and Olga Borys. He is survived by: his children, Adrienne Monaco (Paul) and Mylène Tomkin; his grandchildren, Donovan, Sadie, Corrigan and Riley; and his friend Michael Tomkin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to FND Hope and McMaster Children's Hospital.
