He was predeceased by: his spouse Mies Kolkman (Poppe); and his parents, Gerardus Kolkman and Henrika Kolkman. He is survived by: his children, Gerald (Veronica), Joe (Theresia), Teresa Punch (John), Alma Hollingshead (Harvey), John (Wilma) and Colleen Mathieson (Paul); his siblings, Gerard Kolkman (Ann) and Riek Groot Koerkamp (Anton); and his nibling Holland.
