He is survived by: his wife Blanche Paulen; his children, Roger Paulen (Pascale) of Ottawa and Carolyn Paulen (Scott) of Halifax; his grandchildren, Sarah, Alex, Emma and Cameron; and his siblings-in-law, Kathleen Ayres (Jim), Sandra Burton, Jim DiSabito and Clyde Burton.
