He was predeceased by: his wife Carolyn Thornton; his daughter Dianne Cosstick; his parents, George Thornton and Ruth Thornton; his sister Margaret Weiler (Art); and his siblings-in-law, Brenda Verellen, Bob, Barry, Jim and Ron Brant.
He is survived by: his children, Steven Thornton (Patti) and Twyla Willis (Murray); his child-in-law Jerry Cosstick; his grandchildren, Michael (Serena), Steven (Amanda), Mark (Courtney), Ashley, Melissa (Terry), Tyler (Ashley) and Bailey (Kateri); his great grandchildren, Cohen, Isabella, Alexander, Alayna and Sylvia; and his siblings-in-law, John Brant (Lynda), Sharon Tully, Brian Brant (Gloria), Deb Mills (Tim), Ed Brant (Wendy) and John Verellen. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews and friends.
