He was predeceased by: his son Paul; his parents, Joe Ryan and Rita Ryan; his parents-in-law, John and Agnes Walsh; his brother Ken Ryan; and his siblings-in-law, Jim Cronin, Louis Masse, Bob Cronin, Mike Walsh, Andrew Jarecsni, Lynn Walsh and Lucy Walsh (Michael Northcote).

He is survived by: his wife Mary Ryan; his children, Joseph (Kari), John, Meg Lyoness (Jim), Stephen (Greta), Kathleen, Bill (Juanita) and Julianne Riehl (Mike); his sisters, Mildred Cronin, Catherine Masse and Joan Cronin; and his siblings-in-law, Carol Ryan, Maria Walsh, Joseph Walsh, Julia Jarecsni and Helen Muir (Dennis). He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
