He was predeceased by: his wife Geraldine "Gerry" (Lorbetskie); his sisters, Barbara, Joyce and Louise; his parents, Thomas McSheffrey and Louise McSheffrey (Beauregard); Carol and Joan.

He is survived by: his children, Lorraine Tinsley (Tom), Jason McSheffrey (Megan) and Tracey Bertrand (Stephane); his grandchildren, James and Melissa Tinsley; and his daughter Jillian McSheffrey. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
