He was predeceased by: his sisters, Mary Dahmen and Pauline Shaw; and his siblings-in-law, Isabel (late John McMillan), Ken (late Lottie Scott), Mac (late Freda Scott) and Gordon Robb.
He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Scott Eccles (Dee), David Eccles (Michelle), Dale Eccles (Ange) and Brian Eccles (Maureen); his sibling Jean (Ron Liebold); and his siblings-in-law, Hart Dahmen, Bob Shaw and Nora Robb. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
As an expression of sympathy memorial donations to the Louise Marshall Hospital Foundation, St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, or the London Down Syndrome Association would be appreciated by the family.
