He was predeceased by: his parents, Don McCool and Rita McCool; his brothers, David and Raymond; and his siblings-in-law, Billy and Joan.

He is survived by: his wife Suzanne; his children, Kimberly (Kenny) of Sudbury, Michael of Thunder Bay and Jason (Natasha) of Kirkland Lake; his grandchildren, McKenna and Jace of Kirkland Lake; and his siblings, Claire Schonfeldt (Terry) of Kirkland Lake and Danny McCool (Mary) of Bethleham, P. A.. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
