He was predeceased by: his parents, Christie Thompson and Beulah Thompson; his siblings, Gordon Thompson (late Mary), Ruth Crouse (late Charles), Donald Thompson (Dorothy), Marjorie Brennan (late Edward) and Betty Lansbergen (late Hank); and his brother-in-law John Speed (late Ruth).

He is survived by: his wife Betty Thompson; his children, Shelley Clapp (David), Dana Thompson, Green (Paul) and Angela Thompson (Ryan); his grandchildren, Kyle (Tommy), Josh, Darby (Nico) and Spencer; and his brother William Thompson (Gloria).

Visitation was held on Friday, May 22nd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Wartman Funeral Home "napanee Chapel" (448 Camden Rd, Napanee, ON K7R1G1). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 22nd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A reception was held on Friday, May 22nd 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
