He was predeceased by: his parents, Viola Wales and Bill Wales; and his siblings, Glen and Doris. He is survived by: his wife Lois; his children, Jody Wales (Shauna) and Jennifer Martin (Ian); his grandchildren, Dawson (Izzy), Brookelyn, Karleigh and Layton; his siblings, Shirley Fairbanks (Gordon), Neil (Paulette), Murvin (Debbie) and Reg (Debbie); and his mother-in-law Marjorie Yeomans (late Howard). He is also survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

For those desiring, memorial donations to the Greater Napanee Firefighter Toy Drive will be remembered with appreciation by the family.
