He was predeceased by: his father Clarence Holst; and his sister Yvonne Anthony (Ivan). He is survived by: his wife Brenda Lynn Holst (Braun); his children, Nathan Eli Holst (Nicole), Jonathan Richard Holst (Amanda) and Amanda Lynn Garland (Trevor); his grandchildren, Kevin (Kambel), Ashley (Brayden), Connor, Claire, Ethan, Emma, Joshua, Noah and Launa; his mother Victoria Mae Holst (Zehr); his siblings, Donell Holst (Judy), Brian Holst (Iris), Dennis Holst (Linda), Glenn Holst (Debbie), Rosemary Wenger (David) and Michael Holst (Margaret); his father-in-law Walter George Braun; and his stepfather-in-law Bruce Richard Wiese.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 28th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home (291 Huron St, New Hamburg, ON N3A1K2). A funeral service was held on Sunday, March 1st 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Steinmann Mennonite Church (1316 Snyder's Rd W, Baden, ON N3A3K8). A reception was held on Sunday, March 1st 2026 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
As an expression of sympathy, along with flowers, memorial donations can be made to Habitat for Humanity or the Mennonite Central Committee.
