Richard Shantz Obituary
We are sad to announce that on October 26, 2025, Richard Shantz (New Hamburg, Ontario) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Nyal Shantz and Helen Shantz (Lichty); his sister Joanne Wideman; Penny Roth. He is survived by: his wife Constance "Connie" Shantz (Roth); his children, Luke Shantz (Joanna Baechler), Lindsay Leis (Scott) and Kevin Shantz (Kristy); his grandchildren, Keira Shantz, Dylan Leis, Marissa Shantz, Lauren Leis, Hudson Leis, Levi Shantz, Felix Shantz and Lydia Shantz; his siblings, Lorrie Baechler (Roger), Pauline Martin (Glenn) and Michael Shantz (Linda); and his siblings-in-law, Clifford Wideman, Pat Roi (Bob), Wanda Zwaag (Howie Brohman), Brian Roth (Deborah), Sandra Roth (James Shantz), Dennis Roth (Luanne) and Marcia Kastner (Chris). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home (291 Huron St, New Hamburg, ON N3A1K2). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Shantz Mennonite Church (2473 Erbs Rd, Baden, ON N3A3M3).
