Verna Schmidt Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Verna Schmidt of New Hamburg, Ontario, who passed away on August 11, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Gideon Kuepfer and Catherine Kuepfer (Schwartz); her daughter Rosanna Rolfe (John); her granddaughters, Gladys Campbell (Jim) and Brenda Schmidt (Bruce Schmidt); her sister Clara Carter (William); and her siblings-in-law, LeRoy Carter (Clara), Miriam (Ezra Kuepfer) and Jacob Schmidt.
She is survived by: her husband Jonas Schmidt; her grandchildren, Jesse (Jill) and Katrina (Paul); her great grandchildren, Kiley and Shaun (Erin); her grandchildren, Gloria Roulston (Rod) and Albert Schmidt (Gayle); her great grandchildren, Colin (Stephanie), Carrie (Steve), Heidi (Rob), Dylan and Sam; her brother Ken (Esther Kuepfer); and her sister-in-law Barb Schmidt.
Funeral service will take place on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 2 p.m. at the Milverton Christian Fellowship, with interment to follow in the Former Riverdale Mennonite Church Cemetery, Millbank As expressions of sympathy, and in lieu of flowers, donations would be accepted to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Knollcrest Lodge.
