He was predeceased by : his parents, Archie Dorsch and Emma Dorsch (Schmidt); his daughter Joy Dorsch; and his siblings, Reuben Dorsch (Ada), Esther Shantz (Joe), Alice Lingelbach (Louis), Carl Dorsch, Harold Dorsch (Helen), Violet Cooper (Walter), Emerson Dorsch (Ada), Lorne Dorsch (Grace), Nelson Dorsch (Betty), Ruth Dorsch and Alfred Dorsch.

He is survived by : his wife Viola Dorsch (Gascho); his children, Jim Dorsch (Doretta) of Frederick, Maryland and Shirley Sherk (John) of Toronto, Ontario.; his grandchildren, Michelle Dorsch and Jenn Dorsch-Messler (Brian); and his great grandchild Cayden Messler. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

As expressions of sympathy, donations would be accepted to the Mennonite Central Committee or the MCEC and can be done through the funeral home.

He was to us a mentor, counselor, co-worker, encourager, model for ministry, brother, and along with Viola, substitute grandparents to our children. We remember the times of fellowship and worship, and those hunting trips near the Serengeti, followed the next day by scrambled ostrich egg for breakfast and making sausage of the animals we harvested to take along back home.
