He was predeceased by : his parents, Chester Hopkins and Gertrude Hopkins; his daughter Debra Duquette; his siblings, Josias Hopkins and Dorothy Huff; and his brothers-in-law, Dudley Huff and Ogden Porter.

He is survived by : his wife Marilyn; his children, Herb (Correen) of Kelowna, B. C. and Karen Ross (Lorne) of New Liskeard; his sister Helen Porter; his grandchildren, Corey Hopkins, Graham Ross and Craig Ross; and his great grandchildren, Evan Hopkins and Calli Hopkins.
