Daphne Rose Svenningson Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Daphne Rose Svenningson (Newcastle, Ontario), who passed away on January 15, 2026, at the age of 103, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her siblings, George Canning, Valerie Sutcliffe and Victor Canning; her husband Wayne Bancroft Svenningson; and her mother Lady Garvagh.

She is survived by: her son Victor (Lydia); her granddaughter Jessica; her daughter Jennifer Leavitt (John); her grandsons, Andrew, Graeme and Alexander (Lindsey); her great grandchildren, Leo and Mallory; her granddaughters, Emma and Madeleine; Andrea Svenningson.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Capitol Theatre (https://capitoltheatre.com) are much welcomed in her name and would be greatly appreciated.
