He was loved and cherished by many people including: his child Adrian; his friends, Heather Murray Elkins and John Ambrose of God's Presence; his daughter Jessica; his grandchildren, Aislinn and Sage; his stepson Zach; his sister Janet Hodsoll (Bill); his niece Stephanie (Christian); his friends, Melva, Jessica, Adrian, Mallory, Aislinn and Sage; Peggy, Daniel Elkins, Millie, Monty and Kimball.

Visitation was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM and from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the Newcastle United Church (84 Mill St S, Newcastle, ON L1B1H2). A prayer was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. Just in time for the covid19 pandemic, Fred and Melva decided to downsize and move in with Adrian and his family in the Northglen neighbourhood of Oshawa.

In lieu of flowers, Fred requested that memorial donations be made towards the Master of Sacred Music program at Emmanuel College, the Alzheimer's Society of Canada, or the Transplant Unit of Toronto General Hospital.
