With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard Weiss (Newcastle, Ontario), who passed away on May 11, 2025 at the age of 88. He was predeceased by: his sister Marian Weiss. He is survived by: his children, Steven Weiss, Josie Lalonde (Cameron MacIntyre), Bryan Weiss (Shelli), Richard Weiss (Nadine Muis), Brian Newcomb (Johanna), Michael Newcomb and Wendy Newcomb (Charles Frendo-Cumbo); his siblings, Ernest (Merka Weiss) and Carolyn Broda (Allan Wax); his grandchildren, Sophie Neilson (Jam Gelua), Nicole Frendo-Cumbo, Julia Robichaud (Darrel), Annika Newcomb, Emily Frendo-Cumbo, Samantha Lalonde, Jenni Newcomb and Jesse Newcomb; and his nieces and nephews, Dara Weiss, Tammy Broda (Vince Belcastro), Jacob Weiss (Emilie Vaissiere) and Daniel Broda (Ashley Lipson Broda). He is also survived by his great-nieces and great-nephew.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, May 19th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM at the Wilmot Creek Wheelhouse (1 Wheelhouse Drive, Newcastle L1B1B9). A shiva will be held on Tuesday, May 20th 2025 at 6:00 PM, on Wednesday, May 21st 2025 at 7:00 PM, on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 at 7:00 PM, on Friday, May 23rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, May 24th 2025 at 8:00 PM.
