He is survived by: his wife Ann; his children, Terri, Phil, Joanne, Tom, David and Danielle; his grandchildren, Joel (Irma), Meagan (Josh), Joshua (Leah), Karina (Ryan), Stephen (Alexandra), Bethany (Troy), Luke (Crystal), Emily (Chris), Jacob (Donalda), Caleb and Jordan; his great grandchildren, Myla, Alana, Heidi, Nora, Mindy, Aurora, Daniel, Hayden, Georgie and Emmett; and his siblings, Betty, Cornelis, Akke, Adrian, Nellie, Femmie, Simon, Margaret, Dekkema, Engelina, Lloyd, Tina, Jean, Geert, Bert, Jenny, Peter and Carol.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 4th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Skwarchuk Funeral Home (30 Simcoe Rd, Bradford West Gwillimbury, ON L3Z2A9). A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 5th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Bethel Community Christian Reformed Church (333 Davis Dr, Newmarket, ON L3Y2N6).
In Abe's memory, donations may be made to King Christian School, East Gwillimbury or the Alzheimer's Society of Canada.
