He was predeceased by: his parents, Henk Vanderburg and Pieternella Vanderburg; and his sister Yvonne Dushko. He is survived by: his brothers, Tom Vanderburg and John Vanderburg. He is also survived by his four children, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
