He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Bruce Somers and Margaret Viola Somers (Whitelaw); his brother-in-law Dave Mumford; his niece Kerry-Anne Mumford; his wife Kathleen Somers (Anderson); his children, Peter (Chrysta) and Deanna (Norm); his grandsons, Alexander and Owen; his nephews, Rick (Jennifer), Steve (Brenda), Stephen (Jana) and Scott; and his niece Alison (Craig).

He is survived by: his siblings, Joan (Roger), Bruce (Marion) and Jan Mumford; his close friend Paul Beacock (Chris); and his family, Kathy, Deanna and Norm.
