She was predeceased by : her parents, Franklin McEwin and Mabel McEwin. She is survived by : her husband Stephen Herzog; her sons, Michael Herzog (Susan) and Matthew Herzog; and her grandchildren, Lauren and Jaimee Herzog. She is also survived by her family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joyce's memory to the Kidney Foundation or Southlake Regional Health Centre.
