He was predeceased by: his wife Sophia; his parents, Jacob and Pieternella; his sister Betsy Wolters-Bruinse (Chris); and his in-laws, Gerritt and Maaike Barents.
He is survived by: his siblings-in-law, Deana, Tom Appleton, Arie, Christine Barents, Rita and Ben Heuvelman; his children, Barbara, Valerie and James; his children-in-law, Bruno, Paul and Cherie; his grandchildren, Nicholas, Katie, Cassandra, Jeff, Jacob, Sheridan and Ashley; and his great grandchildren, Sophia-Anne and Robert.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 3rd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Taylor Funeral Home (524 Davis Dr, Newmarket, ON L3Y2P3). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 4th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A reception was held on Wednesday, March 4th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, March 4th 2026 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Queensville Cemetery (20778 Leslie St, Queensville, ON L0G1R0).
