We bid farewell to Maria Giannos (Newmarket, Ontario), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on April 30, 2026 at the age of 89. She was predeceased by: her parents, Dimitrios Papapetrou and Diamanto Papapetrou. She is survived by: her husband Paul; her children, Bill (Angela) and Diamanto; her grandchildren, Alex (Ashley), Sofia and Rocco; and her great grandchild Ares.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 6th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Thursday, May 7th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Thursday, May 7th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Sts. Panteleimon, Anna & Paraskevi Greek Orthodox Church (11323 Warden Ave., Markham, ON L6C1M9). A burial was held on Thursday, May 7th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Elgin Mills Cemetery (1591 Elgin Mills Rd E, Richmond Hill, ON L4S1M9).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society to support research for a cure or to Sts. Panteleimon, Anna & Paraskevi Greek Orthodox Church.
