It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Edward Nieuwesteeg (Niagara Falls, Ontario), who passed away on April 17, 2024, at the age of 63, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Gerry Nieuwesteeg and Lia Nieuwesteeg; his parents-in-law, Francis and Patricia Patterson; his brother Art Nieuwesteeg (Carol); and his sister-in-law Mary Frances Patterson.

He is survived by : his spouse Ruth-Ann; his siblings, Diane Nieuwesteeg (John Stewart), Yolanda Nieuwesteeg, Charlotte Spilka (Paul), Jerry Nieuwesteeg (Janet), Peter Nieuwesteeg and Rob Nieuwesteeg (Siren); his sister-in-law Sandra Smith (Brian); and his aunt Cathy Nieuwesteeg. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Sunday, April 21st 2024 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Patterson Funeral Home (6062 Main St, Niagara Falls, ON L2G5Z9). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Patrick's Church.

In accordance with Ed's wishes, memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Forest (https://heartlandforest.org), where an accessible playground is to be named in his honour.
