He was predeceased by: his wife Maria Nero; his daughter Rita Goldfinch; his grandson James Goldfinch; his parents, Antonio Nero and Rosa Nero; and his siblings, Maria Vaccaro and Frank Nero.

He is survived by: his children, RoseMarie Nero (David McDonald) and Tony Nero; his grandchildren, Matthew Nero (Beth), Alex Nero, Adam Nero, Melissa McDonald, Michael McDonald and Clarissa Johnstone (Connor); his great grandchildren, Grayson and Sophie Nero; his siblings, Rosaria Aurora (late Benito), Raffaele Vescio (late Mario), Diamante Roperti (late Fiore) and Florence Nero (Domenic); and his siblings-in-law, Italia Nero and Nicola Vaccaro. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
