He was predeceased by: his wife Barbara Chiasson; his son Kevin MacDonald; his parents, Walter Chiasson and Yvonne Chiasson; his siblings, Yvon Chiasson (Collette) and Rita Oakes (Walter); and his siblings-in-law, John Philips, Colleen Briere and George Philips.
He is survived by: his children, Christine Oakes (Robert Neufeld) and Tim MacDonald (Cindi Sanders); his grandchildren, Elisha Dunsmoor (Adam), Tyler Oakes-Stec, Molli MacDonald (Duncan Mitchell), Ariana Ruscitti, Jessica Ruscitti and Johnathan Sanders; his siblings, Anna Cormier (Raymond), Genette Cormier (Jarvis) and Theresa Bernatchez (late Alex); and his pet Ginger.
