Irene left this world on April 19, 2024 at the age of 93, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Waino Kuster and Ilmi Kuster; her son Byron (Sandy); her husband Gordon Blomfeldt; her children, Gary and Doreen; her brother Elmer Kuster; and her brother-in-law Bruno Niemi.

She is survived by: her grandchildren, Janie (Tyler), Amanda (Phil), Rachel (Don) and Adam; her great grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Taylor), Ava (Luke), Emily, Dominic and Danielle; her sisters, Viola Gonyou (Gordie) and Bernice Niemi; and her sister-in-law Anja Kuster. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.
