Richard Vasko wrote a sympathy message

“Dianne and family. I am so sorry for your loss. I loved the many hours spent in the boat with "Doogie". It's amazing how such cherished moments entailed very few words other than "I've got a bite" or "pass me a minnow". He loved to fish, and was able to share that enjoyment with a few lads from the big city. Love you Doogie, Martin River has lost a man with a big heart!”
