He was predeceased by: his father Isaac Abel; his siblings, Fabian (Deborah) and Christine; and his nephew Calvin. He is survived by: his mother Joan Abel; his child Courtney Mcgown-Abel; his close friend Sharon Mcgown; his sisters, Darlene (Lou) and Bonnie; and his nieces and nephews, Carla, Jasinda, Mike and Britney.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 5:00 PM at the TBD Saswaahns Spiritual Centre. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church. A burial will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at the M'Chigeeng First Nations Cemetery.
