He was predeceased by: his spouse Waltrault Popp; and his brothers, Fritz and Philip. He is survived by: his children, John (Christine), Anita Kapitanchuk (Perry), Nancy Falkenberg (Alfred) and Thomas (Julie); his grandchildren, Jonathan Kapitanchuk, Noah Falkenberg, Emily Kapitanchuk and Aidan Falkenberg; and his siblings, George, Willi and Maria Bentele.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date, once Covid restrictions are lifted.
Donations in memory of John can be made to the North Bay Regional Health Centre.
